Great contacts at our local dog park! Networking!
We found our local dog park in Danville about a year ago. We pretty much stumbled upon it and have been hooked ever since. It's the one place we can go where we don't feel like people are staring at us. We are known in some circles like my relatives, the other boaters when we are spending the weekend on our little boat, or just driving around town, as "the crazy dog people." We know we are considered a bit odd. We know that we are not the norm. We know we deserve the name. BUT we don't care. We love our little crew. All four of them. The best thing about going to the dog park besides how much fun Petey, Tootsie, Homer and Buster have is that we are among our own kind. We are surrounding by other crazy dog people who simply love their dogs and can't stop talking about them. You know the crazy people who love the way their animals look at them, run, catch and ball and sleep. Yes, we are among our own kind and we are all happy. We look forward to our almost daily ritual of socializing with other Danville dogs and their owners. BUT a great thing happen the other day while we doing our usual thing. I met a lovely local Realtor who was with her baby Otis. An adorable mixed mutt who was having a grand time with our Petey chasing the ball. We exchanged cards and who knows. In the future we might even do some business together. The point of this little story - carry your cards wherever you go.
